UMTS LTE Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access - SC-FDMA

Single carrier frequency division multiple access is a process that allows mobile radios to share radio frequency allocation by dividing up that allocation into separate radio channels where each radio device can communicate on a single radio channel. The UMTS LTE system uses SC-FDMA in the uplink direction. The use of SC-FDMA for mobile devices reduces the amount of power that is transmitted from the portable or mobile device, extending its battery life.
