Acquisition(1-General) Acquisition is the process of tuning and decoding a signal from a system. (2-Satellite) The process of a satellite receiver device locking on a satellite's global positioning system (GPS) signal. The acquisition includes tuning to the signal frequency and applying automatic gain control (AGC), synchronization (time alignment) and decoding (processing) of the data signal. (3-customer) Acquisition is the process of acquiring new customers from a population of prospects who were not customers in the past. (4-billing) Acquisition is the process of obtaining goods, services or the rights to use good or services.
